Cinque terre – Accommodation Review, La Francesca Resort

Resort La Francesca Cinque Terre

In this time of restrictions due to Covid 19, many people are looking for Lockdown Staycation Ideas in Italy and since 2020 is likely to be the year of the Italian Staycation I started working on this project in order to give my readers some helpful ideas in Italy. My online research led me to the Resort La Francesca. So we packed our luggage together with my computer and all other materials for photo and video editing and we drove straight to the Liguria Region in the Northeastern part of Italy.

In every walk in with nature one receives far more than he seeks.

At around 5 pm, we arrived at La Francesca Resort for a 2-night staycation. Due to the Coronavirus issue there are new rules for hospitality in Italy. Our check-in form and documents were sent beforehand by email so upon arrival we only had to claim our keys.

Nestled very close to one of the most wanted tourist spots in Italy, the Cinque Terre, La Francesca Resort is a true oasis of peace and tranquillity where nature reigns. It consists of a collection of 55 oceanfront homes in touch with nature. The courtyard area is perfectly looked after.

Our apartment was located uphill from where the view of the surrounding beach and hills was amazing. It was very basic but functional. However, the tiny tube based TV did make us wonder. Who knows why they never changed that television? I mean, bigger screens are cheap nowadays. Anyway, with plenty of things to do at La Francesca Resort that really didn’t matter to us.

Situated in an ideal place for those who like both the sea and the mountains, not only can you enjoy the tranquillity of nature, but there are also plenty of outdoor activities to do! From swimming pool to private seaside or tennis court to boules playground, there are plenty of options for every age. Children and adults can enjoy many activities without getting bored here.

Moreover, there are so many ways to stay fit over the holiday here. Just a walk up and down the hill is a perfect way to simply get some time out to breathe. It is worth it to visit the resort just for its wonderful location.

Parents with kids and children can’t go wrong by booking here. If you want to get the most of a staycation with your family, consider staying at Resort La Francesca.

Well, one think that I want to highlight is the La Francesca Resort would like their guests to enjoy and explore the nature around them and that’s exactly why the apartments are very basic. I mean, they don’t have private Jacuzzis in every apartment or other luxury facilities at fingertips.

In our case, we were able to appreciate the staycation since everything around us was so unspoiled. But if you are a picky person looking for fresh and contemporary style then of course for a more expensive price, you can get a different option out in the city.

Here are some helpful tips to best handle your stay in La Francesca Resort.

  • Read their rules and regulations before booking.
  • Check-out the swimming pool opening hours
  • Shop for groceries beforehand. Make sure you have everything you need since the nearest grocery store is about 5 km away and the onsite mini-market sells just few things, plus it is closed during the lunch hours.
  • Stay at least 3 nights.
  • Dine at their beach front restaurant at sunset.
  • The Wi-Fi connection is very poor at the property so make sure that all of your important work that requires internet is done before heading to the resort
  • Download the resort La Francesca map here.
  • Forget about everything and enjoy the moment for what it is.

And now you are ready to consider a staycation at Resort La Francesca in Liguria. If you’re a nature lover who’s looking for a relaxing gateway, Resort La Francesca is the perfect location for you! Your experience here will turn out to be one of your all-time favourite staycations.

P.S. We were sponsored for this stay but the review is our own.

The year of the staycation- that’s a great phrase! So true. I wish Italy was a staycation for us. Instead it’s at the top of our international bucket list. Someday when it is safe again!

What a fabulous staycation! I’ve visited Positano/Amalfi but would LOVE to get to Cinque Terra one day too! Glad you’re enjoying your local surroundings – but hello – who couldn’t in a place like that!!!

What a great place for a getaway! It was nice to know that they are adhereing to Covid SOP’s and made the check in almost completly contactless. It seems like a relaxing way to spend a few days away from the huslte and bustle 🙂

Staycations are the way going forward. This place looks like such an unspoilt spot close to the lap of nature, with all the amenities one needed to be away from home. I am more inclined towards comfort than branding an accommodation as luxury or budget. At the end of the day, comfort is what matters, and how clean the place is! I think that way, this resort scores the point.

I like that they haven’t invested in flat screen TV’s … in a place like this you don’t need any enticement to stay inside, when there is so much to see and explore outside. Even if it’s just sitting on the balcony working!

This resort looks perfect for me, with having both nature and water right there. Sometimes staycations turn out to be the best vacations!
