Having breakfast with Giraffes IN ITALY
🦒☕ Breakfast with giraffes in Italy? Yes, it’s possible! Well, giraffes inhabit savannahs, so seeing them in our everyday life is almost impossible. Seeing them roaoming around usually means traveling to the African savannah, but there’s a place in Italy where you can enjoy an unforgettable breakfast while watching these gentle giants.
It’s a truly unique experience, especially for families with children, that includes nature, wildlife, and a touch of adventure. At Zoom Torino, in the Piedmont region, you can start your day with a delicious breakfast while observing giraffes from a privileged viewpoint creating memories that will last a lifetime. ✨🦒☕
What is Zoom Torino?
Zoom Torino is an immersive wildlife park (biopark) located in the town of Cumiana, about 45 minutes southwest of Turin. Opened in 2009, it is widely recognized as Italy’s first immersive biopark.
The park covers an area of 160,000 square meters (approximately 16 hectares) and it is home to more than 300 animals representing dozens of species.
It is designed to offer visitors a unique and educational wildlife experience.
Unlike traditional zoos, Zoom Torino uses natural barriers such as lakes, streams, and vegetation instead of cages, allowing animals to live in environments that closely resemble their natural habitats.
Visitors can explore the park on foot, enjoy immersive encounters with wildlife, and attend educational talks and demonstrations that promote awareness of biodiversity and conservation. This combination of animal welfare, environmental education, and immersive design has made Zoom Torino one of Italy’s most innovative wildlife attractions.
Don’t let me forget to mention that Zoom Torino also offers nature-themed play areas and pools for children.
In addition to all this, at Zoom Torino there are two large themed outdoor swimming areas, both designed as landscaped African-style beaches rather than traditional rectangular pools: Bolder beach and Malawi Beach.
And also, guests can book the Glamping experience at Lake Eyasi Glamping and spend the night in a villa, lodge, or tent. The stay includes unlimited access to the zoo area, swimming pools, and the panoramic Savana Terrace, with spectacular views over Serengeti Hill from dawn to dusk.
Oh I forgot, Zoom Torino has multiple dining options rather than just one main restaurant. That means a typical full-day visit can be done entirely inside the park without needing to leave for lunch, which is especially useful if you’re trying to maximize animal exhibits, pools, and shows.
Where the breakfast with Giraffes is served at Zoom Torino?
The Breakfast with Giraffes experience at Zoom Torino takes place on the Savana Terrace, a panoramic platform elevated approximately 4–5 meters above the ground. From this raised viewpoint, guests enjoy breakfast while overlooking the giraffes’ habitat, watching the animals move freely below and, at times, nearly at eye level.
The terrace was specifically designed to provide an elevated perspective of the savannah environment and its inhabitants. As a result, Breakfast with Giraffes is promoted as one of Italy’s most distinctive wildlife dining experiences.
Please note: you can’t feed the giraffes during breakfast.
How does the breakfast with Giraffes at Zoom Torino work?
Read this paragraph very carefully because when I was there I saw that many people were sent away. And it is because breakfast with giraffes, available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., is reserved exclusively for guests staying at their glamping site or for those who have booked the experience in advance. Unfortunately, it is not available to regular zoo visitors.
I repeat: if you’d like breakfast, you need to book it in advance through their website. Otherwise, you’ll be asked to leave the Savana Terrace.
Starting at 11:00 a.m., all zoo visitors are welcome to visit the Savanna Terrace for a light lunch or a coffee break.
My impressions of Zoom Torino.
I recently visited Zoom Torino with my family and had a fantastic experience. We stayed three days at their glamping: Lake Eyasi and here I can say that we made the most of this experience. Breakfast with the giraffes was definitely my daughter’s favorite part.
Since I’d like to write a separate post focused on their glamping, for now I’ll briefly outline the impression and understanding I’ve developed of the Zoom Torino setting.
The Zoom Torino is beautifully designed, with spacious and natural-looking habitats that allow visitors to observe animals in an environment that closely resembles their natural surroundings.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals, including giraffes, penguins, tigers, monkeys, and so on. The educational information provided throughout the park was interesting and helped me learn more about wildlife conservation.
The park was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate.
The staff were friendly and helpful, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. I also appreciated the attention given to animal welfare, which seemed to be a priority throughout the facility.
The themed areas and swimming pools added an extra element of fun, making the visit enjoyable for both adults and children. There were plenty of dining options and shaded areas to relax during the day.
Overall, Zoom Torino exceeded my expectations and provided a memorable vacation. I would highly recommend it to families, animal lovers, and anyone looking for a unique and educational experience near Turin. I look forward to visiting again in the future and would love to stay there a week creating memories that will last a lifetime.
