B&B Arco Ubriaco in Agrigento was one of those fast reservations, booked without much forethought since we had a very short time available, but yet it took us by surprise.
That day we were driving from Enna to Agrigento and right after we made our reservation through Booking.com, the owner of the B&B Arco Ubriaco in Agrigento called to give us all the information related to the directions and parking. All their suggestions really came in handy.
Once we reached the old town of Agrigento, as they advised we parked our car in Via Garibaldi. Then we walked toward the B&B Arco Ubriaco.

At this point it is necessary to open a parenthesis to say that the streets in the old city of Agrigento are very narrow and some are only for pedestrians. Consequently, you won’t be able to park or get your car close to the front door of most places. Agrigento reminded me of Marrakech a bit.
For this reason, contacting the hotel ahead of time to ask information is always a great idea.
The parking that B&B Arco Ubriaco suggested to us was all in all convenient, and at zero cost.

After a short walk we reached the entrance of B&B Arco Ubriaco. Sara, a pretty lady in her 30’s, gave us a very warm welcome, and after the check-in procedures, she informed us about some good local restaurants. Since we stayed 3 days in Agrigento we tried them all; they were excellent.
B&B Arco Ubriaco is different from other places where we have stayed in the past. First of all, the rooms are in the owner’s own house. Mother Antonella, daughter Sara, son Andrea, two cats (Milù and Max), and two dogs (Cesere and Nina) make up the household. And contrary to what one can imagine from the outside, the house is huge inside.

The entire management of the B&B Arco Ubriaco is in the women’s hands.
In addition, Antonella works at the Museum of Archaeology in the Valley of Temples in Agrigento and Sara is an architect. They are an amazing source of information.. They know all about their city and they are always ready to help with any need.
There is one more important fact about the B&B Arco Ubraco which can’t be undervalued: they accept pets. We all have big attachments to our pets and leaving them at home alone can be pretty stressful. So being able to take them along thanks to a hotel which welcomes pets is not bad at all.

Breakfast was simple but delicious, featuring home-made jams, local bread, and pastries. Antonella was good enough to create a homey moment. Sadly due to some rainy days we couldn’t have breakfast on the patio.

B&B Arco Ubriaco is absolutely a great place to stay in the city centre of Agrigento, especially if you are travelling with pets. Here we felt the affection and warmth of the Sicilian people. Antonella and Sara made us feel like family.
Pin it for later ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
